## How it works

A gap night is a free night stuck between two bookings. When the gap is shorter than your minimum stay, no guest can book it, so it stays empty. A gap only counts here when a booking sits on both sides: open dates before the first or after the last booking you entered are not gaps, because a longer stay can still land there.

Revenue at stake is the gap's nights times your nightly rate. The suggested gap price takes a discount that grows as the gap gets shorter (25% for one night, 20% for two, 15% for three or more, all editable), rounded to a price you would actually type.

To sell a gap, the minimum stay for those check-in dates has to be the gap length or less. Recoverable revenue assumes every gap sells at its gap price, so treat it as a ceiling, not a forecast.

## Questions hosts ask

### Why can't guests book my 2-night gap?

Most likely your minimum stay is longer than the gap. With a 3-night minimum, a guest searching for exactly those two nights never sees your listing. Lower the minimum stay for those check-in dates to 2 and the gap becomes bookable.

### How much should I discount a gap night?

Enough to win a last-minute guest, but not so much that regulars learn to wait for it. The defaults here (15–25%, deeper for a single night) are only a starting point; test your own and watch what books.

### Does lowering the minimum stay for a few dates hurt?

Lower it for the gap dates only, not the whole calendar. A short stay means one more turnover, so check that the gap price still covers the cleaning.

### Is my data saved?
