# Report foreign guests in APOA (Indonesia)

https://tools.santara.ai/indonesia-foreign-guest-report-apoa/

Hosting foreign guests in Indonesia? Enter the check-in time and each guest's passport and visa details. You get the APOA reporting deadline with a live countdown, the six passport fields APOA reads with copy buttons, a passport request in the guest's language, and an Indonesian register sheet to print. Nothing leaves your browser.

## How it works

Indonesia's Immigration Law (UU 6/2011, Article 72) requires the owner or manager of a place of lodging (tempat penginapan) to give foreign guests' data when an immigration officer asks; since the 2024 amendment (UU 63/2024) a police officer may ask too. Immigration collects that data through APOA (Aplikasi Pelaporan Orang Asing) at apoa.imigrasi.go.id and its Android app, and APOA's guidance asks places of stay to report each foreign guest within 1x24 hours of check-in. Older regional guidance used 2x24 hours, so ask your Kantor Imigrasi which rule it applies.

You register once as Accommodation/Hotel with the property name, phone, email, postal code, address and a map pin; the app checks you are within 2 km of the pin and confirms by email. At each check-in you scan the guest's passport (the code lines at the bottom of the photo page) or upload a passport photo, within 50 m of the pin. APOA reads the passport number, date of birth, name, passport expiry, sex and nationality. When the guest leaves, you press Check Out under Data Tamu.

This tool adds 24 hours to the check-in time you type, in local time, and compares it with your device's clock. It lists APOA's six passport fields with copy buttons, keeps visa, stay-permit and room details for your own register, and prints an Indonesian register sheet. Checked 29 October 2026 against UU 6/2011, the Directorate General of Immigration and the APOA user manual. This is a helper, not legal advice.

- `report in APOA by = check-in date and time + 24 hours (APOA guidance)`
- `check-out in APOA = when the guest leaves`

## Questions hosts ask

### Do I have to report foreign guests if I rent out a villa on Airbnb?

APOA's guidance covers villas, apartments, kos and rented houses, commercial or private, and individuals who let foreigners stay, so a villa or apartment rented out on Airbnb is included. Register the property in APOA and confirm with your local Kantor Imigrasi.

### How quickly must I report a foreign guest in APOA?

APOA's guidance says within 1x24 hours of check-in, and you record the check-out when the guest leaves. The law itself (Article 72) requires the data when an immigration officer asks, and offices have used other routines, so check with yours.

### What is the penalty for not reporting?

Article 117 of UU 6/2011 sets up to 3 months' confinement or a fine of up to Rp25 million for an owner or manager who does not give foreign guests' data after an immigration officer asks. Law 63/2024 amended that article and Law 1/2026 adjusted criminal penalties, so check the current text.

### Is the passport data I type sent anywhere?

No. This page has no analytics, saves nothing and sends nothing you type; close the tab and it is gone. If you print the register we ask for your name and email first; only your name and email are sent, never the guest details.
